Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does your homeschool support include?
We provide structured, personalised academic support for home-educated children in core subjects like English, Maths, History, French, Spanish, Computing, Music, Science, learning skills, business studies/entrepreneurship, basic politics, economics and philosophy all rooted in a Christian worldview.
2. Do you follow a specific curriculum?
While we are flexible to meet each family’s needs, we generally align with the UK National Curriculum in core subjects to ensure students can transition smoothly into exams or formal education if desired.
3. What age groups do you work with?
I currently support students aged 8 to 14, offering guidance and content suited to each child’s stage and learning pace.
4. Are you a qualified teacher?
Yes. I am an experienced and qualified tutor with over 20 years teaching experience in primary, secondary, independent and state schooling.
5. How much does it cost?
The aim of UpliftED is to make Christian education available to anyone who wants to take part, regardless of financial means. For this reason, there is no set fee for attending, rather fees are negotiated with families on an individual basis.
As a rough guide, organisations that offer similar services charge around £30 a day or £350 a month. Membership includes:
- Classroom learning which happens from 9:45 to 14:45 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Activities arranged by UpliftED parents on Wednesdays and Fridays which currently includes tennis, gym, art, “practical science”, wilderness wandering, and horse-riding. Since these activites are organised by the parent body, some require payment.
- 24h access to the UpliftED website – packed full of educational content!
Please get in touch with me at info@uplifteduk.org and I will be very happy to discuss financial contribution and membership options on an individual basis.
6. Do you teach from a Christian perspective?
Yes. Christian values are integrated into teaching and conversation. Lessons are inclusive and welcoming to all, but the ethos is unapologetically biblical in its foundation.
7. Do I need to buy any materials?
Most materials are provided or recommended. I’ll let you know if any specific books or resources are needed for your child’s level or programme.
8. Is there a trial period or initial meeting?
Yes. Before joining, we arrange an informal consultation to discuss your child’s needs and see if the support I offer is a good fit.
9. How do I sign up or find out more?
Please email me at info@uplifteduk.org to ask questions, book a phone consultation, or come in for a taster.
